In 1994, 796 participants turned out for the inaugural Run to Feed the Hungry event on Thanksgiving morning. This Sacramento tradition is not only the largest run in Sacramento but also the largest Thanksgiving Day fun run in the country!
Run to Feed the Hungry is owned by Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services and all profits directly benefit the organization. The costs associated with putting on this event are kept low as a result of our generous sponsors, contributions of goods and services and through the incredible volunteer efforts of the community! This is a great “Turkey Trot” event. I try not to miss it! It is a big race in Sacramento with approximately 40,000 people attending. The energy and race production are A+!!
The race takes place in the Fabulous 40s neighborhood of Sacramento with lots of people cheering the runners (and walkers) on. The expo has a lot of vendors and free swag. This is a great one.

Great fundraising cause. Very crowded beginning, so not able to really get your stride pace. Nice course. Fun atmosphere. Festival was okay. Shirt was pretty ugly. MORE
