We’re offering five individual categories: 24-hour, 12-hour 8 AM to 8 PM Saturday, 12-hour 8 PM Saturday to 8 AM Sunday, 6-hour, and 3-hour. The 6- and 3-hour categories are new this year and both are only offered starting at 8 AM. Also, there will be 12-hour and 24-hour relays of up to 6 individuals.
Don’t let the name scare you away! You do not have to run the entire 24 hours! Our goal this year is to create a fun atmosphere with camping space provided and plenty of entertainment. And if you feel like running and/or walking on our scenic 2-mile course, then you can do that, too. It’s more about having fun in a healthy way to grant dreams.

Course: 2 mile loop course at Red Orchard Park on a mixture of grass and dirt. Entire course is very “runable”. Small section is single-track, but mostly wide-open mowed path/trail. Most of the course is also shaded, which is great in the summer in Kentucky.
Organization/logistics: Super well organized! Small race, so you can park right beside the course and set up your own aid station. (although the race has 1 well-stocked aid station and 1 with water). Race organizers create a very upbeat and encouraging atmosphere.
Swag: For $59, you got a soft cotton shirt, trucker hat, drawstring bag, and hand-made wooden medal/coaster!
Overall: A great race to run/walk as much as you’d like while being well supported and encouraged. I used this for my Kentucky marathon.

I was amazed that this race was organized so well given the small number of volunteers involved. I picked up my bib number and t shirt the afternoon before the race, and the race director was out on the course marking the trail. He also mowed a path for us along the route, and was the main time-keeper throughout the 24 hours of this race. I thought he bent over backwards accommodating the runners. There wasn’t a huge variety of food at the aid station, but it was sufficient for a 24 hour run. About half the course was shaded in a riparian zone along Clear Creek, and the other half was along the edge of an old hay field. It got hot at times along the upper part of the loop, but was perceptibly cooler in the shade closer to the creek. The course was a 2-mile loop, so we were able to replenish at the aid station at regular intervals. One nice touch was that chairs were provided for those who wanted to take a break at the end of a loop. I enjoy these small events because you get to know the people so much better than at larger events.
