I ran this race with a friend of mine who was running her FIRST 5k ever. It was the perfect setting, course, and staff. The course was “easy” on the body and mind. Staff were kind and passionate. They hyped the crowd, start and finish. The medals were some of the best I’ve ever received. Definitely recommend and I intend to run it again next year.
Well organized, festive and scenic!

I can’t say enough good things about this race, but I’ll try. Packet pickup was in a community art gallery and was well organized. I loved the course. The town shut down several roads for this event and felt very safe. I was looking forward to running the road called South Boundary and it did not disappoint. I didn’t know we’d also run near some beautiful horse farms with short stretches of colorful golden sand underfoot. The course had a Run to Remember section with signs honoring fallen servicemen and women, and supporters waving large flags and cheering on the runners. The fire department hung a huge flag just before the finish which was fun to run under because it was visible for almost a mile before you reached it. It was so inspiring! There were cash prizes for many levels of winners, and other age group prizes. There was water, bananas, and tangerines at the finish, and if you brought money there were food trucks and plenty of local eateries nearby. There were also massages, local organizations and sponsors with free stuff, and a stage with a DJ and an awards ceremony. The pre-race and post-race celebration was surprisingly large for such a small town; it seemed like everyone turned out to make it a success. The beneficiary of the race was United Way of Aiken County.
