This race changed from Plymouth to Marshfield in 2024. I never ran the original course so I’m not sure how it compared. I got to the parking area which was the Marshfield fairgrounds. Since there’s only one way in and one way out of this parking lot, traffic was awful. I spent a solid 10-15 minutes in traffic just trying to get into the lot. I spent the next half hour in line for one of the 5 or 6 porta potties they had. Definitely not enough for the amount of people. No one had any idea where the actual start line was, which was actually the small road that connects the main street with the parking lot. I didn’t hear any pre-race announcements as we were waiting to start. The traffic was awful, runners running almost in the middle of the road, cars beeping no matter where runners were. When I crossed the finish line, i was immediately pulled aside because they didnt have any of my information for my bib number. Then they announced my number to go to the finish line a few minutes later. So instead of stretching and and taking that post-race selfie….I had to go give my information to someone. Weird. Busses shuttled all the sweaty runners back to the parking area from the finish. I’m not sure personally I’d run this again unless it had to fit into marathon training or if all other races in this time frame were sold out. Maybe they’ll address the issues for 2025.
