This a a fun concept and a nice place to run. I drove in the morning of from out of state and it was easy to park close to the start/finish and the porta potties were sufficient. There was no gear check – but because the car was so close that wasn’t a problem. The course was short about 0.4 mile – at first I thought I must have missed a turn, but then I heard lots of other runners commenting on it as well. There were about half the water stations I’m used to – but they were sufficient for me, just couldn’t skip any of them on a warm day, so carrying your own water might be a good idea. I wasn’t able to make packet pickup, so I arranged a same day pickup – if the race wants to grow they’ll need to figure out a mail option I think. All in all I think the race has lots of potential if they work out the kinks, but they weren’t there quite yet.

Signing up should have been my first clue that all was not right with this race. It wasn’t a professional site like RunSignup, just a janky website. When I had questions, I submitted with no response. Follow-up with no response. When I left a cranky message a the Facebook page- immediately responded. The response was helpful and I shook it off. Unfortunately their fix didn’t include attaching my age to anything and now, post-race, I don’t show as placing in my age group. Once again—- no responses. And they’ve stopped allowing comments on Facebook at all. Guess why?
Race day was hot in Atlantic Ciry. There weren’t enough hydration stations. Barely any course support at all. Course was short by .4 mile. Nothing at the finish line. No bananas, no bottled water. I read that some runners were hospitalized for dehydration post-race.
If you’re running this having never run before, you may not notice that it is amateur hour. A Monopoly-themed money grab. I will never waste my time or money on it again. Sad I missed the opportunity to run a real race that weekend.
The medals are really nice, truly. That’s the only good I can say about it.
Don’t do this race!

I had signed up last year but deferred because there were no age group awards for the first year and I was coming off an injury. Still no age group or any awards for 2026 but I’d paid so I decided to run it. This year there was no same day packet pickup, so I had to drive 65 miles the day before to get my bib. I decided to volunteer and worked packet pickup. It was a mess. The race director didn’t even attend the race weekend!
The race itself was mostly on the boardwalk – very flat but no shade. It was 75 degrees and there were only 3 water stops. The course was 0.35 miles short and the only water at the end were in tiny cups, no food or anything else. The medal was nice, but the shirt was cheap. I paid $135 for this. So, I’d say forget this race if they do it again.
