Whether you are Team Run Blue or Team Run Green come out and support your team by joining us for a FUN filled 5K run/walk at Fortitude Outdoor Fitness. With an open start format (9a-11a) and a chipped /timed event, participants can show up anytime between then and complete the course.
You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. We have switched it up for everyone to start when they are ready and at their own pace. Timing does not start until you cross that line.
The 5K course is on well-groomed hard packed trails. 10 ft wide to allow for social distancing. Running shoes are perfectly suitable for the terrain, trail shoes, or CC spikes are not needed. All trails are well groomed and marked off.
All participants receive a RUN BLUE or RUN GREEN shirt (if registered by 10/5/20), a finisher medal and team water bottles. Discounts towards our Reindeer 5K in December will be awarded for top 3 of certain age groups.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Shiawassee is a non profit organization which is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors representing health & human services, court, school and law enforcement agencies as well as members from the general public.
The Council has been dedicated to providing a series of prevention education programs since its conceptions in 1987. Infant and Child Prevention Education, Darkness 2 Light, Personal Safety Awareness Program and support groups are available to the entire community.

A COVID compliant live race. Start line was open from 9am to 11 am. Chip times were recorded after all had finished. Course was basically on mowed farm fields with some very hilly sections. Footing was tough, but we all shared the same conditions. They did a great job organizing this race and making it enjoyable and safe. Participants ran in support of either the University of Michigan or Michigan State University, a fun rivalry.
