Bring your own water as there were not enough aid stations for the climate. After the race, burritos and dilly bars were promised. There was not enough post race snacks for the runners which was very disappointing. The course was an out and back.

There was one water station at the 2-mile mark. On an out-and-back half-marathon in August. That’s why I’m leaving a review. Do not trust the website, bring a camelback or something in case they just forget that humans need water like they did when I ran it a few weeks ago.
Aside from that, it’s not a bad race. If the organizers had just done the bare minimum for a race, it would have been a great time. Hopefully 2024 was just an off year for them.

The first couple miles of the race were on a main city street; after that, most of the race is on a river/canal trail or alongside parks. The scenery was pretty nice, and I was able to see 3-4 hot air balloons take flight. The early start for the race was good because of the August heat. The folks running the race were very friendly and the bling was good. The downsides of the race were: 1. Hard to sign up initially online; 2. Directions to the parking area weren’t clear for out-of-town folks; 3. They ran out of some of the food for us late finishers; 4. Hard to find results online. I think if they can improve the race promotion, organization, and communication, they could attract more folks to run it.
