The course for the Reno 10 Miler will be new in 2018. This year this event is paying tribute to the celebration of the Journal Jog, Reno’s Oldest Footrace, reaching its 50th year. So the start / finish line will be the same as for the Journal Jog, on Foster Drive outside of the Boys and Girls Club facility across from the Reno High track / football field. In addition, 4.97 miles of the course will be the actual Journal Jog course, so every runner who runs the 10 Miler can also claim that he or she completed the Journal Jog too on this milestone year.
What You Also Get If You Sign Up For The Reno 10 Miler & Relay:
– a Reno 10 Miler & Relay finisher’s medal
– post-race refreshments and vendors and music at the Finish Line Party
– a complimentary beer at the finish party
– and entry into the Race178 Great Giveaway Extravaganza – must be present to win a GGE prize.
As part of the Reno Running Festival, the Reno 10 Miler and Journal Jog will be run simultaneously so you will have to choose between the races. You cannot run both of them.

I liked the course, had a few hills, but not too steep. The streets were closed off very well and the course took you through some pretty good places in Reno like UNR and the river. Everything was marked very well and you get to run part of the course with the historic journal jog race which is a 8K. The only down side is that the health expo needed more vendors and I wish they did it on the day the packets were handed out and I was disappointed that you had to pay for a shirt and the swag was limited as well.
