Loved the trail atmosphere! Everything was pretty simple and straight forward. The only negative really was that there was only 1 water station for the 10k. It was an out and back course with a water stop at 1.5miles. You turned around at the 5k mark and went back so you hit that water station again at 4.7miles. So you were without anything for 3 miles. It would have been nice if there was water at the 5k turn around. But otherwise, it was great!

Logistics: very easy drive from the Birmingham area where I was staying (which was also very close to the airport)
Packet pickup was just walking up to a table at the local running store – no frills just bibs, pins, shirt and a plastic bag. I love the shirt – it’s soft and long sleeve!
Race morning was super chill. Arrived about 45 minutes before the race, easy parking, real bathrooms to use at the park and overall a smaller sized local race
There are quite a few races going on at once, I ran the half marathon which was a pretty clean out and back, primarily on the trail which was nice and peaceful. We got hit with some humidity which made things a little rough.. while the race definitely is mostly flat – there are some sneaky gradual inclines throughout.
Post race had awesome snacks, lemonade and anything else you would expect. Great smaller race to check off Alabama!
