Ragnar Trail Richmond is back! This wild, fun and rewarding overnight trail running experience takes place just outside of Richmond at Pocahontas State Park.
You and your team of 8 (or 4) runners go over the river and through woods to Ragnar Village, your home away from home for the long weekend. You’ll set up camp and prepare to conquer a series of three pristine trail loops, relay-style. As each runner sets off, you can expect to catch glimpses of the shimmering lake views of both Beaver Lake and Swift Creek Lake through the deep foliage. As the sun sets, the race doesn’t stop. Runners keep going beneath a canopy of (about) a billion stars overhead and watch the moon rise.
Back home at Ragnar Village you can rest your legs next to the campfire, chow down on s’mores, and relax with your team. This year, runners are welcome to join us one night earlier, starting on Thursday for a bonus day of camping, campfires, kumbaya-ing and fun!
Ragnar Trail is like summer camp for grownups. Any level of runner can come conquer the trails as you find yourself in this journey of adventure, self-discovery, and sheer nature-loving goodness.

This is my hometown Ragnar and it includes some amazing trails in Pocahontas State Park. The trails aren’t overly technical, making this a great first Ragnar for new trail runners. The organization of the race is outstanding and the spirit of the event is absolutely amazing. Love this race and can’t wait to do it again!
