The Powisset (pronounced “po-wiss-it”) Farm Trail Run is part of the Barn to Run Trail Race Series and takes place in the spring and fall. The spring event is on Memorial Day Monday and the fall edition of this event takes place in October at Powisset Farm in Dover, MA. The event includes running the trails of Powisset Farm and neighboring Noanet Woodlands and offers 4 race distances to choose from — 8.3, 5.6, 3.1 and 1.5 miles.
A popular event with experienced and novice trail runners alike, the Powisset Farm Trail Run was named one of the Ten Best Trail Races for the Fall by Sea to Summit.
Come for the race… stay for the cider donuts! Post-race cider donuts are a staple of the fall races in the Barn to Run series. Bring the kids to see the animals, free pumpkin painting and to see all the farm has to offer!
The Powisset Farm Trail Run is designed to not just offer runners a first-class trail race, but to also showcase and raise awareness for Powisset Farm’s property, programs and CSA (community supported agriculture) operations. A portion of the proceeds from the Powisset Farm Trail Run will be donated to the Trustees of the Reservations, a non-profit land conservation and historic preservation organization dedicated to preserving natural and historical places in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts like Powisset Farm.

Aside from the hard spill I took in the last mile due to choosing the wrong distance for my trail experience level, I loved this race. Gorgeous trails, smelled amazing, and the signage and occasional human guidance were super—I was in the back of the pack on my own for a fair duration and never worried about getting lost in the woods. First Aid was first rate.
