The Monterrey Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, as it fulfills the requirements established by Boston to grant that right. It is also enrolled in the International Association of Marathons and Road Races, AIMS. The course starts and finishes at Fundidora Park. Registration is limited to 9,000 runners.
The Monterrey Marathon course was measured and certified by an AIMS “B” level gauge, and is part of its annual marathon calendar. It is recognized by the International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) as a “qualifier” for marathons of the Olympic Games, for the Marathon World Cup, as well as for the Pan American and Central American Games and for the Abbott WMM Wanda Age Group World Championship. It also has the endorsement of the Mexican Federation of Athletics.
