The fun begins at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Piedmont Exedra located at Highland and Magnolia Avenues. Over the past 17 years, the Piedmont Turkey Trot has grown to be a treasured event for many families, friends and neighbors. Run to win or walk to enjoy the brisk morning air and good cheer. And all those finishing the 5K course will have bragging rights at their Thanksgiving table that evening! The Piedmont Turkey Trot is a nonprofit organization supporting local charities and organizations.
The Piedmont Turkey Trot is proud to have net proceeds benefit the PHS Cross Country and Track and Field Teams – and the City of Piedmont’s Athletic Facilities Preservation Fund.

When I talk about my hometown, people don’t quite appreciate how hilly it is. This Turkey Trot has lots of hills (extended uphills), but mostly downhills to the end. The shirt has changed over the years to a technical tee. Best of all, I get to run by my childhood home and see how little it has changed.
