The Notchview Ultra course is a beautifully groomed 1.9 mile (approximate) perimeter loop trail that winds around Notchview in Windsor, MA. You will pass the aid station each lap and there will be access to bathrooms and running water. Additionally, there will be an area to set up personal aid stations as needed. Slight (though some say “substantial”) .2 mile incline at the start of each lap, followed by rolling 1 mile alternating single track and double. It follows a xc ski perimiter loop, and grass could be somewhat long in the field, though generally is groomed well!
AID STATION: We will provide an aid station with normal snacks : salty, sweet, water, gatorade, with access to microwave and coffee pot. There will be a table to place your cups if you wish to reuse and not carry with you. Please help us keep waste to a minimum. Label a cup and leave it on the table 🙂
RULES/EXPECTATIONS: We are guests of Notchview. Please help us get welcomed back for next year. Clean up after yourself. Use the garbage cans and make sure not to leave any trash around your campsite. Quiet hours are 11pm to 6am. Please try to limit noise from your site at these hours. This helps us maintain our good standing with the Notchview Caretakers.
SWAG: Runners will receive an item of Notchview SWAG at packet pickup. We will have a merch table open at the start of race. Cash, check, or Venmo accepted. Exchanges can be made after event has started while the tables are open.
BENEFICIARIES: We will be donating to the Trustees of Reservations at Notchview and Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, MA this year.

Except for scenic ocean views, this race just about has it all. Super friendly and generous volunteers, beautiful prairies, lush deciduous forest, and great organization. This race is sponsored by the BURCS Running Club, and its members generously volunteer their time in organizing and volunteering for the race. The loop is just the right distance to avoid being intimidating, but has some elevation gain to keep it from getting boring. None of the hills are steep (3 to 7% grade), so they are manageable. There are a few roots in just a couple of spots, but otherwise, the trail is relatively smooth. There were a few low rocks, but most of them were flagged so you could be forewarned about their presence. The swag this year included a short-sleeved shirt, a pair of Notchview socks, and a nicely designed finisher’s award. They also gave out a customized railroad spike, with a personalized message from the race director. It’s the personal touches like this that make this a race that you will want to return to again.
