This half marathon starts and ends on the PSU campus, so parking was close and easy. The course takes you through the countryside and this years the temp was in the low 30’s and bright sunshine. Cant ask for anything better! Then the hills start….of the totality of the 13.1 miles, ballpark 5+ of them are straight up hills. Some are “rolling”, some are long, and others are just plain steep. The final 1.5 miles are one of them, so leave some fuel in the tank for the final push. The finisher medals are an extra $10 on top of your race fee, but who runs a 1/2 doesn’t want one?? Post race was pretty no frills, but there was plenty of bottled water, fruit and snacks, and delicious jumbo sized sugar & chocolate chip cookies. Water/gatorade aid stations were spread out nicely and all the volunteers were top notch! Despite the difficulty of the course, Id definitely run this one again just as a challenge to push myself.
