The Niagara Ultra, one of Canada’s most iconic races, follows the picturesque Niagara Parkway along the Niagara River, passing historic Fort George and reaching the stunning Niagara Falls. This charity fundraiser and Boston qualifier features beautiful views of Niagara’s wine country and vineyards and passes a butterfly conservatory – so many reasons it should be on every runners’ bucket list.
Starting in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the course winds south along the river’s edge, offering sweeping views of the water, lush vineyards, and charming countryside. The terrain makes it ideal for personal bests – but the real reward comes at the turnaround point for marathoners, 50km and 80km runners, where runners are greeted with the thunderous roar and mist of one of the world’s great natural wonders.
Every step is framed by breathtaking scenery making this an unforgettable destination race that blends speed, beauty and endurance.
The event is proudly presented by the St.Catharines Roadrunners and Walkers.

Swag is awesome! I chose to run this race because it was on my birthday this year! Not only is the hoodie of nice quality (60% cotton) but it also says June 21 2025 on it! I will wear it with happy vibes.
The medal says the June 21 date on the ribbon and medal itself! My first one that says 42.2 km!
The course itself was a hybrid of the w&od and mt Vernon bike paths here in nova. Some slight ups going out (with a big one at mile 7) and slight downs coming back; some tree cover.
I was hoping to finish in five hours, and it was going to be eighty degrees at the end so I wore my hydration backpack with 1.5L reservoir. Did not use aid stations on the way out. Refilled reservoir at 20k aid station on return. They didn’t want to put too much in, which meant that I ran out again between 10 and 5k remaining. Refilled at 5k. Was getting hot and cranky but managed to hang in there and keep pushing. They had Gatorade, water, coke, chips and skittles. Brought my own gels. They had secret ice that I asked for at 20k remaining and 15 k remaining.
The finish was nice and in the shade; signs for 800m, 600m, 400 and 200 m. I was really digging deep and pushed to the end. So I finished in 4:55 and was pretty much middle of the pack for the marathon; there was one bottle of water on the water table and a igloo cooler that was almost empty. That made me cranky. I guess the halfers drank it all. I was very sweaty and thirsty. But the medal is so pretty. And it was my bday!
