This was my first time to Minneapolis so I didnt know what to expect as far as temperature, hills, scenery, etc. Fortunately, the weather was perfect for race day, 46 at start and maybe 56 at finish. The course is has some rolling hills and few steep hills but nothing that is terrible. The scenery was nice, running through nice neighborhoods and along the Mississippi River. Team Ortho did an excellent job with organizing the race from shuttle buses to pacers to course management. Expo hall was fair but well organized. Not many vendors. Marathoners got jackets and half marathoners go shirts which were actually very nice and gender specific. Mile markers were off from my GPS and there are no time clocks at mile markers so if you dont have your own watch, you wouldnt know your pace. Not a big deal but would have been nice to have clock at half. Water stops were plentiful and volunteers were helpful. Post race food was fair with plastic bag with chips, granola bar and something else. Food trucks were available to purchase food if you wanted. This is a point to point course and you had the option to park (fee of $12) at the start and take shuttle back after or park (fee at meter or garage) at finish and take shuttle (fee $7.50) to start. We opted for parking at the start so we didnt have to pick up shuttles at 4:30-6:00AM. And we were staying closer to the start than the finish. Overall it was very smooth with parking and getting the shuttle back. Highlights for this race: well organized, great weather, challenging course. Cons: post race food. If you are looking to do a race in Minnesota, you might want to consider this low key, well organized race.
