This was a mostly flat course with a few rolling hills that ran beside the Mohawk River most of the race. There was one portion for a few miles that ran along a street that was not closed to traffic but traffic was light. Much of the race was along the Mohawk trail/path so there was not a big need for road closures.

Due to Covid, the aid stations were to refill your own water cup but I would expect that to change by next year.

Not much crowd support but with this race I never felt the need for it. Plus the weather conditions were not favorable for crowds.

It was about 45 degrees with a cold rain but it made the race easier to handle on Memorial Day Weekend. Looked like there could have been a decent after party but I think the rain prevented that from happening. The start and finish are right by a Brewery/Restaurant and Hotel/Casino.

I would recommend this for first timers and would probably run the 10 Miler course if I ever return to the area.

Hopefully COVID-19 protocols will go away someday soon. With that in mind, this is an excellent race is you want a flat, scenic, and not too crowded run. I ran this as a double with Infinitus in Goshen, VT the day prior. Aid stations came often with mostly just water. I asked a few if they had gatorade, but never found any and I don’t think there was any food on the course. My day prior race was a trail marathon, so I had brought my own supplies and didn’t look too closely. The run is mostly along the Mohawk River and very pretty. It rained almost the whole day with temps in the 40s. Really good running weather except maybe a little on the wet and cold side. A few places were on well-protected roads, but most was flat, wide, easy trail. Organization, parking, communication was all good. Nice box lunch at the finish. Bring a cup and/or your own food for the run and you’ll have a blast.

I’m biased. This is my home course, along the path I run almost every day. It’s gorgeous, green, pretty flat, intimate without being cramped.

The 10 mile race is along the bike path that parallels the Mohawk River, almost the entire race. There are a few small inclines, but they are barely noticeable. There are enough twists and turns along the bike path that it always feels like something different.

The way the race was set up, some marathoners and 10-milers passed each in opposite directions. That added another degree of excitement and inspiration to me – I got to see folks still going strong, after they’d begun their race an hour before I did and still had a ways to go!

This year was the inaugural year, and although it was high 80’s the week prior, it was rainy and 50’s day of. Still, water stops were fully supported and there was a great crew of cheerleaders along the way.

I would highly recommend this race for anyone looking for a fast 10-mile point to point course with some nice scenery along the way!

Pic below is of the last .1 miles – runners had just turned right away from the riverside bike path to do somewhat of a U-turn toward ur finish!
