Vermont’s Sweetest Half Marathon
The Middlebury Maple Run is a USATF-certified half marathon. Beautiful, scenic routes with views of the Green Mountains and Adirondacks. A mix of trail (10%) paved (45%) and dirt roads (45%) for the half marathon. Well organized, great swag, inspiring music on course, post-race complimentary breakfast with bagels, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice and a finishers medal.
Don’t miss this opportunity to cap your fall racing season with this foliage run!
The Middlebury Maple Run is a USA Track & Field Sanctioned event.
Runners love the Maple Run’s beautiful and varied half marathon course! Starting with a large loop down residential South Street and Weybridge Street then out scenic Morgan Horse Farm Road into the farmlands of Weybridge. Runners loop back to town on Sheep Farm Road, a flat gravel road with gorgeous views back toward town and Middlebury College!
From there, runners cross through campus and then hit a stretch of the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), before rejoining South Street extension.
The final 6± miles is an out/back stretch on the hilly (but beautiful) South Street Extension, on a mostly gravel road with stunning pastoral views of the Green Mountains.

This was a small town race of about 400 runners. The course is both road and packed dirt through a lot of farm land. There are a good many rolling hills. The reason I chose this race was that they have a maple syrup pancake breakfast once you finish and the medal is made out of a piece of cut maple tree. Carry your on fluids as there are only a bare minimum of water/gatorade stops.
