Have you ever been on an airplane, looked out the window and said, “How cool would it be to run on the runway?” The MIA RUNWAY 5K SERIES lets you do just that, run the runway of three major airports in Miami-Dade County. The series kicks off in March at Miami Executive Airport (TMB), followed by Miami-Opa locka Executive Airport (OPF) in April. The final destination in the series is MIA, where you will have the unique opportunity to run on the 8,600-foot-long runway 8L-26R.
All participants who register for the series will earn a series long sleeve performance t-shirt.

- The Miami-Opa locka Airport was originally named The Florida Aviation Camp.
- Miami-Opa locka Airport is home to the busiest U.S. Coast Guard Air/Sea Rescue Station.
- Miami-Opa locka Airport is the general aviation with the busiest private jet operation in South Florida.
- The first structure to be built on this piece of land was an Arabian-inspired observation tower.
