I grew up very close to this course, so I’ve been running these back roads for many years. It was fun to run them for an official race. I like the backroad scenery and frequent water stops. The weather was hot and it would have been nice to start earlier, seeing as this is typical weather for the time of year. Not a good race if you’re looking for a PR. The course goes over several turnpike overpasses and there are more hills than you would expect for central Jersey. I will do it again. I feel more prepared for the heat and see it as a good training run. The photos were a bit limited, but as the race grows and they get feedback it might change for the better.

This race is new, and this was year two. Over 400 participants. Water stations was every four miles with no gels provided. Crowd support was nonexistent. I enjoyed the race and recommend giving it a try. The race T-shirt is attractive, but swag and post-race food was nothing special. Photos of runners could have improved during the race and at the finish. Would I do it again? Possible, to see this race grows. I enjoyed the experience and atmosphere. The course scenery was rural and some neighborhood stuff, so nothing spectacular, but not awful. Course is not an obstacle for a PR. Race start time and average annual temps could affect PR attempts.
