A great way to see the major sites of Toulouse. The last half of the race winds through the city center along the Garrone river and Le Canal du Midi ending at the beautiful Place Capitole. Late October usually in 50’s make for great running weather. Shuttles to the start well organized. Only snafu this year was the slow security checkpoint to the starting area the runners had to pass.

Amazing job Bill, congrats on your first sub-3:00! I was psyched when Jimmy told me recently you'd broken the 3-hour barrier in Toulouse, I didn't even realize that goal was in your sights. Your success will definitely motivate me as I prepare for my second shot at Comrades next year. Here's to hitting all your goals in 2018, and hope we have the chance to run together again soon! LESS

Thanks Mike! Comrades, wow, that's on my most epic bucket list. If you do it, I'll want to know all the details. That and Boston 2 Big Sur and the JFK 50 and the Tarawara 100k and maybe the CCC (as part of the UTMB series). Good luck in Houston. I've got the Zermatt marathon and Chicago signed up for 2018. I actually ran my first Comrades in June... this year was the "up" run, so next year I'll be doing the "down" run too since I can't resist the temptation of the back-to-back medal. My review (w/ blog post) is on our Comrades page, if you're curious. Best of all, we've talked Jimmy and Cath into joining us next year! And I'm planning on the JFK 50 next Nov as well, if you'd be up for that 6 weeks after Chicago. Boston 2 Big Sur is an awesome experience, you'll have a great time and the swag is some of the best. And Zermatt should be a nice little challenge at altitude. Love your travel schedule, sounds like you're well on your way to full-blown ultramarathoner status! LESS
