Due to the unique multi-loop course setup, there is one giant “aid station,” with more food and drink than you could ever need! Ask anyone who’s run at least one of our races; we’ve got everything from fruit to jelly beans to sandwiches, water to Gatorade to hot coffee, and everything in between. Way more than just granola bars and bananas – we even have our very own mobile kitchen, Loony Lunchbox!
Every participant (full or half marathon) will receive one t-shirt and other fun goodies. All finishers will receive a separate medal for each day; in addition, we give a special medal to those who complete all races in a series. We even give a special award to each person participating in his or her first full or half marathon! The best part: The famous caboose, given to the final finisher of each marathon and half marathon!
Lake Chicot (the race site) is Arkansas’s largest natural lake. It was cut off centuries ago from the main channel when the Mississippi River changed course, this 20-mile long oxbow lake is a peaceful setting for fishing, boating, and bird watching. Fishing for crappie, bass, and bream is popular on the lake, especially on the upper end of Lake Chicot during spring and fall. Fishing for catfish can be enjoyed throughout the year.

I enjoy these races because of the friendly people, and the race organizers. The courses aren’t especially pretty, but they are usually in a state park. There is one port-a-potty and one aid station. The aid station is stocked with more food than you can possibly eat. I had to discipline myself to not eat too much each time around! You loop around and you see the same people and wave. It’s unlike any other race or race series I’ve done before.
