The Long Haul 100 is a premier 100-mile and 100-furlongs running event and Western States Qualifying Race. Great for first-timers and veterans alike! Come run our race and see beautiful, wild Florida!
The Long Haul 100 has moved and will be held in Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, FL. The Colt Creek State Park features beautiful trails maintained by the park staff. Runners will travel through “longleaf pine Flatwoods, thick cypress domes, and open vistas. This park is home to many species of plants and animals – including bald eagles, white-tailed deer, American alligators, otters, gopher tortoise, and Sherman’s fox squirrel”. We are still tweaking the course, but it will still be fast and flat. Although change can be very hard, we are confident you will really love the new Long Haul 100 at Colt Creek State Park.
The course will now be 6 x 16.6-mile loops. There are 4 fully manned Aid Stations and access to your drop bags every loop. Course cut-off is 32 hours (To qualify for WSER – 30-hour cut-off). Pacers may join their runner after loop 3, at mile 50.7.
100 furlongs = 12.5 miles. The course will be an abbreviated loop from the 100 mile race.
The “Hub” will be in group camping….where there are flush toilets! Runners/crew will be able to drive to the campground and unload their supplies before moving their cars to the parking area. Gone are the days of the 1-mile hike! Crews and/or uncrewed runners who prefer to crew from the back of their car will have the opportunity to park across from Mac Lake in a grassy field. The course will go by that parking area once every loop.
The new “hub” will be home to the Hub Aid Station and runners will loop around the campground twice every loop. Aid Station #2 will be at the end of a short out and back, in the middle of the woods. In addition to those two amazing aid stations, we will be adding a third aid station near the northern part of and course and a fourth aid station at the start/finish line.
ALL 100 Mile finishers will receive a belt buckle and those who finish in under 30 hours will also earn a ticket into the lottery.
Colt Creek State Park is about 1 hr 5 min from the Tampa Airport and 1 hr 25 min from the Orlando Airport.

This was a fantastic event put on by great, caring runners and human beings. I found the volunteers and other runners to be incredibly enthusiastic and encouraging. It was also a lot of fun! This is a relatively fast course too with the winner coming in under 16 hours.
This year the overnight low was around 32 degrees F. It caused many to suffer including crews. Florida weather can be anything!
I did not finish this one, my 1st attempt at 100 miles, only completing 97. I know what I need to work on and plan to try again!
This year the course was mostly dry with a few avoidable mud holes. It is a flat course with some roots in a few areas, but not bad.
