Never experienced a race as awful as this one. You run by a sewage treatment plant not once.. but twice!!! Double the fun on the run. We ran by the ocean for an extremely short amount of time. This was not traffic restricted, and while most motorists were respectful of the runners, I certainly encountered some that were not. Ran out of water cups toward the end of the race. I had to pay extra for a race shirt, breakfast burrito (soggy and gross)..I would not recommend this race.

We were eager to participate in a Hawaii race and selected this event based on the race date. While the race itself started on time and communication was adequate, the course was severely underwhelming.
The race description promised scenic views, but the reality was far from idyllic. Beyond brief glimpses of the ocean and golf course, the route primarily followed a busy highway, passing by unsightly industrial areas including a foul-smelling sewage plant and littered with debris. The course was not closed to traffic, forcing runners to contend with narrow shoulders and dangerously close vehicles.
To add insult to injury, the race imposed additional fees for basic amenities like shirts and breakfast burritos. The meager finisher’s bag included a generic medal, plastic water bottle, bruised banana, and a photo opportunity at the Aloha letters.
