The Lander Half Marathon, 5K, and Kids’ 1-Mile are a part of a larger community fundraising event, called the Challenge for Charities, that has raised millions of dollars since its inception in 2011 for local organizations that do invaluable charitable work in our community.
The Lander Half Marathon is a must-do road running event that ascends the continuous but gradual climb up Baldwin Creek Road and then descends Squaw Creek Road. Runners experience breathtaking views of green fields, winding creeks, dramatic red bluffs, and inspiring glimpses of the Lander foothills and the Wind River Mountains beyond.
The 5 km course leads runners along the Riverwalk and then through town to McMannis and City Park and then joins up with the Half Marathon course to finish down 5th Street.
The 1 Mile Mad Dash runs out and back on Main Street with some of the best cheering you can imagine. Kick off your 4th of July with an event you can be proud of!
All participants will receive a finsiher medal upon crossing the finish line.
Stick around for the 4th of July Parade and the amazing fireworks display in the evening – it will be an unforgettable experience. If you are coming from out of town, we encourage you to book your lodging early. The 4th of July is a big event in Lander and draws in a very large crowd.
