This year in its 4th edition, the running festival in Ueberlingen on the North Shore of Lake Constance had a 5k, 10k and halfmarathon as well as Bambini runs on the second day.
The race started at the square close to where the ferries starts from and only 5min away from the train station. For the halfmarathon I had to run 4 rounds. I did struggle a bit with a constant change of the underground- asphalt, paved paths, roll split and cobble stone and also the 180° turns (two in each round) but all in all it was only little elevation and a flat course.
There was only one spot for drinks (water/ iso), no food or sponges but you would pass it twice on each round (so about every 2.5km). I read later that they ran out of iso in the end and also out of food for the late finishers (when I finished there were so many apples and bananas that it is hard to believe the runners ate them all). The registration was very inexpensive (20 Euros), but no medal and if you wanted a t-shirt you d have to purchase it on top for 15 Euros. There was a bag check and changing rooms and showers.
To me, for the size of the race (about 200 in the halfmarathon) it was a well-organised race and I enjoyed running along the lake shore and through the pitoresque city of Ueberlingen.
