After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel LaceUp Palos Verdes 2022.

LaceUp Palos Verdes is Southern California’s most scenic half marathon and the race you have to check off. What began as a picturesque marathon in the 1960s, has earned a reputation throughout the running community as one of the nation’s most challenging and iconic races. In fact, it was the country’s second-oldest continuously run marathon until it evolved into a Half Marathon, 10k and 5k as part of the LaceUp Running Series in 2014.
Participants start and finish above the scenic Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. The course follows the road through grandiose residential neighborhoods with million-dollar homes and flows along scenic coastal cliffs with views of Catalina Island in the distance. The course is known for its hills. It will be your race challenge of the year. But there is plenty to celebrate once you finish. Relax with a celebratory craft beer and brunch overlooking spectacular sea cliffs in the LaceUp Lounge. Take advantage of this race and spa getaway only an hour from Los Angeles.
With only 1,800 runners allowed to race, this LaceUp stop is the most intimate and exclusive of the series. Most runners come back year after year to complete this amazing course. The Palos Verdes stop was a sell-out race the past three years so be sure to sign up today! There will be no on-site registration.

I was signed up for the half but since I did Revel Big Bear the week before I had to downgrade to the 10K. I was able to change courses race morning. The staff was super helpful and really nice about it. Great 10K!

This is a beautiful course but non stop rolling hills. Be sure to get there early. You have to walk a bit to the start line. Race day pick up is available if you signed up for the race early enough. Great food after the race and a beer are all included with the race entry. If you do all four of their locations in one year you earn the LaceUp Challenge medal. Great series. Will be back in 2019!

The aid stations were excellent. The medal was amazing. The unique aspect of the race was the way the course was in a beautiful area while the roads were safe for the runners. The race is recommended by me for other runners to improve health.

Nice event but the location of the race and the need to take a shuttle from the remote parking to the start will add at least 45 minutes to get to the start. Lots of runners arrived late. As for the race, the half marathon is the larger of the events. Both the half and the 10K course run are along the bluffs and rolling hills for the first four miles. The half splits off after 4.5 miles. The fifth mile of the 10K is a big uphill but then downhill to the finish.

Nice local race with spectacular views of the Pacific, Catalina island and the Trump Golf course. Nice value. Very professional but not too large. Parking no problem, shuttles take care of the heavy lifting. Food trucks were a nice touch. I’ll definitely return next year.
I saw water every where I turned.

Not an ideal race for a beginning runner but for those looking for a challenge, this is a nice race. Plus, it’s a small field. Only a 1000 runners or so.
I didn’t go to Expo; picked up bib that morning (at no additional cost, which I appreciate, especially for a Saturday race. Friday pick ups can be tough for people with … ya know, JOBS! ) 🙂
Nice beer garden and food truck (free breakfast) were a nice perk! Shirt and medal are nicely done though not super special (5k and 10k medals are the same as half though; would be nice if they rewarded half marathoners with a bigger medal — kind of a pet peeve of mine).
Only other con is … my two friends who ran 5k picked up a REALLY NICE Lexus LaceUp water bottle at what they were calling the “Hydration Station” (post race). Guess those went pretty quick cause there were none left for half marathoners. Kind of a bummer that those who PAY MORE for a race don’t get the same swag opportunities. Either have enough for everyone or don’t do it at all, right ??
Overall though, this course is beautiful and definitely worth doing. Lexus LaceUp series does a nice job with the things that are most important.
Great
I highly recommend this race. The scenery is amazing and the race is very well organized. The dri-fit race shirt is one of my favorites. Great swag. MORE
