An Upstate New York Race-cation Getaway
Discover a hidden gem nestled in the serene Finger Lakes region, where the allure of a summer getaway meets the excitement of a summer race. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking journey with a 1.2 mile glacial lake swim, an Athlete Award Winning 56 mile course that leads you through lush vineyards, and a run that goes along the lake and through the rich history of Hobart and William Smith campus. This destination seamlessly combines the relaxation of an upstate retreat with the rush of a race, creating an unforgettable experience that captures the essence of a perfect summer escape. Come explore the blend of leisure and speed in this charming Finger Lake community.
Swim
This 1.2 mile swim in the pristine waters of Seneca Lake begins at the pier by the Finger Lakes Welcome Center, right beneath the iconic I LOVE NY sign. This start location, introduced last year, ensures a sun-free swim, enhancing the overall race experience.
Bike
Athletes will experience a rolling, scenic course. This 56-mile bike course offers beautiful vistas of the Finger Lake Region while athletes will tour the rural roads of the area. The bike leaves the shores of Seneca Lake and climbs out of the valley before riding over to Cayuga Lake. This is a one loop/lollipop shape course. Be ready for a fast last few miles as athletes decent back to Seneca Lake.
Run
The new 2 loop course features some of the best elements of the area and we think this will provide you with a great experience running along Seneca Lake and on the campus of Hobart and William Smith.

I ran this race before it was a half Iron. It was a spring triathlon, and it was really well-run. Nice course where spectators could see the racers at multiple points on the course without needing to do a lot of moving from one place to the other.
Iron bought this race and I haven’t run it since then. But the lake is beautiful and the surrounding area is worth a visit.
