This was my first IRONMAN event to participate in and first time taking on the 70.3 distance in a race. Overall I was very impressed with how it was run. The scenery of northern Michigan as spread out along the course really is on display. A sheltered lake swim (not quite Lake Michigan), riding out on M-22 into the countryside, and using a bike path around Betsie Lake for most of the run with the finish steps from the beach and the quaint downtown of Frankfort, MI is pretty epic. If you’re looking to take the plunge into IRONMAN, this is a great one to pick.

This was my first IRONMAN event to participate in and first time taking on the 70.3 distance in a race. Overall I was very impressed with how it was run.
