Indy Piston Endurance Run is the perfect ultra for veterans and beginners alike! With a fully lit course and aid stations roughly every 1.5 miles, we have what you need to keep your pistons fueled and firing all cylinders throughout the race!
The Indy Piston Endurance Run is Central Indiana’s premiere ultramarathon event located entirely in Downtown Indianapolis running along the paved trails in White River State Park. The entire course is lit, flat, fast, and absolutely gorgeous! Indy Piston is perfect for the first timer or seasoned runner chasing a new PR.
Accommodations for athletes traveling into town couldn’t be any better with numerous hotels, restaurants, entertainment options, and sights to visit within blocks of the start/finish. The event is held annually in early June offering prime weather conditions for all 30 hrs ensuring athletes can focus on the distance at hand. Everyone knows Indy is the racing capital of the world, and now it’s true for Ultra athletes as well!
A Sunday morning Half Marathon has been added for 2023! Help keep the camaraderie alive for the ultra participants in the final hours of their race! The half marathon field size is limited to keep from crowding the course for our ultra distance runners so register early to claim your spot!
Petey the Piston, and the whole crew behind Indy Piston Endurance Run look forward to hosting this June.

This was a tough race due to the weather. June in the midwest is brutal. There is a 50k, 50 miler, 100k and 100 miler. They have a 6 am start and an 8 pm start time. I started at 8 pm and it was still 83 degrees at the start and around 65 at the finish. I couldn’t imagine doing the 6 am start as I’m not a warm weather runner at all. The course overall was decent. Was a 3.5 out and back through the Indiana State Park area of Indianapolis. Lots of food and beverage options set up at the start/finish line and you can set up camp in the same area.
