SWAG: The medal is really nice. Nice ribbon and bling! I liked that they had a couple style options for the shirt. If you race a lot you can tend to get a bunch of the same style. The choice was appreciated. The mug is nice and you can fill it with cider after your run. I was pretty excited for the Carmel Apple but it ended up being a normal store bought one. The pictures made me think it was going to be a little classier. I was surprised that they didn’t have anything else post race for snacks other than water. No Gu on the course either.
Course: I love running through the parks here so in general I’m a big fan. I will say that the start/finish line location was not in good shape. Big puddles and bad footing. I wish they would pick a different location. I also wasn’t a fan of the last mile. Winding around the park facility was no fun. I’d rather have that mile out in the park. Just a personal preference I suppose. Lots of turns when you are tired aren’t so fun.
Overall I really enjoyed the race and was thrilled to get a personal best. I would likely do it again!
