The High Noon 24 Hour Trail Race & Relay Event will take place at Kamview Nordic Centre.
Choose between the Solo category (24Hr / 12Hr / 6Hr), Relay Team, or the Youth – 4 Hr Solo (must be 17 or younger)! First 100 runners to sign up, will receive a free High Noon running hat.
The goal is simple: Challenge yourself to cover as much distance as you can in the allotted time. Your final distance is all up to you. Run, walk or crawl.
This is YOUR race, and a chance to test your true grit in a welcoming and fun place.
The Course
The event is taking place at Kamview Nordic Centre. Runners will follow a 3.38km loop on cross country trails with rewarding views. Portions of the course will be unlit, so when the sun sets, have your headlamp ready to keep the fun going.
Race Format & Categories
Solo category: Test your true grit by challenging yourself to complete as many laps as possible over 6, 12, or 24 hours. Set your distance goals and aim for the finisher medals below:
13 laps = Marathon | 15 laps = 50Km | 24 laps = 50 miles 30 laps = 100Km | 48 laps = 160Km/100 miles*
Runners completing at least 48 laps will earn one sweet 100mile belt buckle.
An additional Top Male, Top Female and Top Non-Binary Medal will be awarded to the respective runner with most laps completed in the 6, 12 and 24 hour events.
Relay Teams: There are no limits to runners / team, nor will there be gender categories. The same rules apply (no more than 1 team member on the course), and we will still award the overall top 3 teams with the most laps. We will also have finisher medals for all relay runners, as well as additional category awards for relay teams…so it’s not all about who can cover the most laps!
Each relay runner will pay their own entry fee as they sign up.
Youth 4Hr Solo: You have 4 hours to run as much or as little as you’d like. You will follow the same course as everyone else and have access to the aid station snacks in between laps (provided you’re continuing on). Youth will receive a finisher medal, and will have results visible on a leaderboard.

The High Noon 24 Hour Ultra and Relay is an event organized by UpRiver Running, whose stated purpose is to bring together people to enjoy trail running. This race is held at the Kamview Nordic Centre, a cross country ski area, but it is also a great venue for a fixed-time event like this. The forest in this area is a unique mix of Northern Boreal Forest and Great Lakes/St. Laurence Forest, which contains a variety of evergreens such as Black Spruce and Balsam Fir, along with a number of deciduous trees including Paper Birch, Larch, and Trembling Aspen. The trail was double-wide dirt and grass that was basically a narrow oval that went out and back. The first half mile was very flat, followed by a very long hill that continued to almost the end of the out portion of the loop. The back portion was mostly downhill with a few short uphill portions thrown in. Overall, there was about 84 feet elevation gain per mile according to my GPS watch. Runners were chip timed, and a race volunteer called out the runners name as they returned to the start/finish area. Participants were given medals that specified the mileage milestone completed, such as half marathon, marathon, 50K, 50 miles and 100K, and 100-mile finishers were given belt buckles. The weather this year was just about ideal for running, with a low in the range of 50 degrees F. to a high of the mid-70s degrees F., with low humidity, very pleasant for the end of June. The aid station had a nice selection of hydration products, including Tailwind, water, and several varieties of soft drinks. Aid station food included PB&J wraps, orange pieces, potato chips, and complimentary energy gels (with and without caffeine). Personally, I thought they should have had a few more easily digestible carbohydrate foods such as salted boiled potatoes, donut holes, and sandwiches instead of wraps. They also shuttled runners with their gear to and from the parking lot, which was very nice of them. Overall, it was a really nicely-organized race, with very nice people, and I told them I wouldn’t change a thing. It was one of the best that I’ve run in recent years.
