This was my first time to PA and I had no idea of the amount of mud and elevation change PA had lurking about.
It rained for several days prior to and during the event. It was a deliciously muddy and difficult course with each lap producing 800+ feet of elevation gain. It wasn’t the gain that destroyed me though, but the muddy declines! I fell twice in the first lap (uninjured thankfully). I’ve done 6-7 50ks and this was the most difficult with the conditions that day.
Production was super smooth and aid stations were top-notch! They had great food that the volunteers brought and made as well as gels, etc.
Swag was good too. I love my t-shirt and socks!
I only completed 2 of the 5 loops but plan to return to kick this race’s butt!!
