Hell Hath No Hurry is a project of the Greater Pittsburgh Road Runners club that is used to showcase the trails of Settler’s Cabin Park to runners of all abilities and levels. The multiple race distances are offered to challenge all types of runners and walkers with an individual challenge that gets them outside of their comfort zone.
All Hell Hath No Hurry races will start and finish at the Cayuga Groove at Settlers Cabin park.
Rules – Solo

50 Mile Entrants complete 8 laps of 10K course, minimum runners age is 18 years old.

50K Entrants complete 5 laps of 10K course, minimum runners age is 16 years old with parental permission.

30K Entrants complete 3 laps of 10K course, minimum runners age is 14 years old with parental permission.

10K Entrants complete 1 lap of 10K course, minimum runners age is 12 years old with parental permission.

Awards will be given to the top Male and Female racer in each category, if there is adequate registration awards may be added for top Masters(40+ years) as well.

All runners must start at the specified race start time.

All runners will receive a handcrafted finisher award for completing the race they registered to run. No switching of race distance during race, please don’t ask to do it.

All events end at 8:00 PM, all participants must leave park by sunset.

Pacers – Pacers are only allowed for runners participating in the 50-mile race. 50 Mile runners can have a pacer with them after they complete 5 laps of the course. Pacers are to travel behind their runners and are not to carry any items for the runner they are pacing. Pacers must register at the starting line and sign a waiver. They are free to accept aid at aid stations as well.

Rules – Relay

Awards will be given in three categories, Top male, Top female and Top mixed team.

All teams will consist of 3 runners, no more, no less.

Teams can determine when and who runs each of the first 7 of the 8 loops of the course. BUT all team members must complete the final lap together. Team members cannot start last lap until the first 7 laps are complete. Team time will be when last team member finishes the last lap.

All rules are subject to enforcement and subjective decision of Race Director.
Trail

The trail will be a 10K loop using the trails blazed within Settler’s Cabin Park.
- Runners completing distances longer than the 10K will run the same loop multiple times,
- 30k = 3 loops
- 50k = 5 loops
- 50 Mile = 8 loops

Runners must run direction specified by race director.

Terrain will primarily be single track trail with minimal road crossings.

There will be hills, mud, vegetation, and/or other obstacles.

Trail will be well marked, but it is up to each racer to navigate his/her own way.
Aid
-
Main Aid Station: The Aid Station at the Start/ Finish Location will have water and/or Gatorade or Gatorade like drink and other ultra fare such as PB&J, Chips, Pretzels, Candy, and other assorted food stuffs. It will not have gels or goo!

Halfway Aid Station: There will also be another aid station setup approximately half way through the course. This aid station will include water, Gatorade, and an assortment of other awesomeness. This is the station to stop at for the most delish fare.

Post Race Cookout: I’m very happy to say that we are planning to have the post-race cook out for runners, crews, families, and friends to replenish their reserves. Once the race is over we should be able to have folks stick around to enjoy hamburger, hot dogs, other salads and some cold sodas and/or brewskies for those over 21.
