Handcart Half Marathon
Our half marathon course is a great course! It’s not your typical “downhill canyon” Utah course, but we think that’s what makes it great! It’s mostly flat, with a few slight inclines. (Total gain: 187 ft / Total descent: 161 ft). You’ll get to head out to the legacy trail for about 5 miles of the half and you’ll head through the beautiful city streets of Farmington, Centerville and Bountiful! The early race start help you beat the heat of July!
Porta-potties, water and first aid stations be provided.
Frontier 5K
This is the course we use for all of our 5K races! If you’ve run with us before, it’s fairly easy…. All right hand turns and pretty flat! There will be one aid station about ½ way through which will provide water, Gatorade and first aid to any in need. It is located half way through the race at Porter Lane (1600 N) and Main Street. We do not close any roads for our races, please be safe and know the course!
Pioneer Pete 1K
For the 1K, it’s also all right turns! Pioneer Pete will lead the way for all 1K runners. The 1K starts in the parking lot behind our facility. Look for a large sign, that says “1K START” which will be right near the bowery’s north end. The route goes around our facility and ends back in the same parking lot it started in. We ask that all 1K racers stay on the sidewalk, know where to go (the course), and have an adult accompany them if they are under 5 years old. All 1K racers should pay extra close attention to our parking lot entrances! We have volunteers staffed there to direct traffic, but racers need to be aware of their surroundings and cars.
Runners receive:
- Polyester gender specific technical running shirt
- Custom race bib
- Post-race drinks and snacks
- Sponsor swag and free samples
Weather:
Be prepared for any kind of weather. We will hold the race – rain or shine!! Course maps may change due to road construction.

Running in the middle of summer in Utah is a challenge due to heat. This was an excellent find. The course is FLAT which is surprising in this area. The “expo” was a challenge because the email was not clear about where to go. It said the gym associated with the Middle School. If you’re not from the community and you search google for the Middle School, you get there and walk around the entire campus trying to get into the school only to discover the gym associated with the Middle School is in the rec center next door. Once you figure that out…that’s where the start is the next morning. Great thing about the race is it starts so early, the sun didn’t break over the mountains till nearly mile 8. This kept the temperature desert cool which was wonderful. Course is a loop, some of it on a rail trail which means pancake flat. Small climbs in second half. Good medal and since I won my division I got a cool belt buckle. Full pancake + egg breakfast along with ice cream and all the other regular post race food. This was an excellent find and very affordable.
