The Guadalajara Marathon, with its 33 years of experience, offers and edition even more lively and festive and is organized by CONSEJO MUNICIPAL DEL DEPORTE DE GUADALAJARA. The route starts and finish at Vallarta Avenue and passes through important points and avenues of the city, such as Chapultepec Avenue, Niños heroes roundabout, Arcos del Milenio, Matute Remus Bridge and Minerva roundabout The course is certified and approved by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the International Association of Marathons (AIMS) and the Mexican Federation of Athletic Associations AC (FMAA).
To ensure that the streets will be reopened to traffic in the following, the time to complete the marathon is 6:00 hours. This limit will be strictly enforced. Participants must keep a pace that meets the arrival time running or walking. It starts when the last participant has crossed the starting line.No coaches, bikes, in-line skates, skateboards, baby joggers or dogs will be allowed on the course.
The Guadalajara Marathon offers a unique opportunity to take over the city by participating in one of the most prominent races on the mythical distance of 42.195 km. Guadalajara is the capital of the state of Jalisco in Mexico located 540 km west-northwest of the capital Mexico City DF (Federal District) It is located in the Atemajac valley, 1561 m above sea level, close to Lake Chapala.
