Grete’s Great Gallop 10K

NYRR ❤️ Members! Join NYRR members to honor the legacy of Grete Waitz with a run through Central Park this August at this NYRR members-only race. This special race and festival is the culmination of NYRR’s inaugural Member Week celebration. 

Race on the same course where Grete won her five New York Mini 10K titles—setting road race world records in 1979 and 1980—and where she ran the final miles of her record nine New York City Marathon victories. Grete later became the founding chair of the NYRR Foundation, which has evolved into Rising New York Road Runners, a free, nationwide program that helps youth develop the ability, confidence, and desire to be physically active for life. Runners must have an active NYRR membership at time of registration.
