The 10K and 1/2 Marathon do an out an back along rolling terrain with pine trees and view overlooks along the forest service road 2N13 toward Fawnskin and back!

Proceeds will benefit the The Children’s Forest via the Southern California Mountains Foundation, a non-profit organization located in the San Bernardino National Forest. This spectacular 3,400-acre area of forest is preserved to provide opportunities for youth to take a leadership role in forest management by giving them a legitimate voice in caring for our local mountains. Through formal education and volunteer programs, the Children’s Forest has encouraged local kids to become Forest Rangers, Fire Fighters, Meteorologists, and Stewarts of the land. The aim is to evoke a fascination with nature that continues for generations to come.

This is a tough one. Lots of inclines. Summer sun. Close to zero crowd support and not a lot of runners so quite isolating. The positives include great scenery and friendly small town vibe. I would not do it again personally, but if you are into challenging trails, and you are in the area, this one is for you.
