2 year for marathon and half marathon run by Ruble racing.
Being from Ft Wayne I have run the parts of the half and full courses many times. Ran the half.
The half runs south from the Coliseum thru downtown out to Sweeney Park and back while the full follows the same first half before heading north out to Shoaff Park and back.
Course takes advantage of many parts of the Ft Wayne River greenway and gives you a nice view of most of Ft Wayne.
Course – B+
Setup and ease of access – A. Very easy parking and package pickup.
Volunteers and water stops – A+. Every water stop was well stocked and the people were very supportive.
Bling – B- just basing rating on people who care about medal and medal size. For a half don’t really care about a medal at all. Medals were small. T-shirts were good with a cool design.
Only minor logistics issue – running race in last week in April. Odds are you are going to get a warm day and we did. Even though we started at 8 in the rain by 9 am it was sunny and temps rapidly rising into the 70’s. Glad I didn’t have to do the last 13 in the heat.
Nice of someone to offer a full marathon again in Ft Wayne after Fort for Fitness dropped it.
All in all a good scenic but warm race.
