This event is a community outreach put on by a vibrant church body. The volunteers all were associated with the church and they passed out bracelets that had different Bible verses on them as runners began a new lap of the course. I enjoyed it a lot, and not just because I won. The post-race fellowship was held on the nearby school grounds and many people got unique homemade awards to bring home as a memory of the event.
