The Flower Moon with feature gorgeous Dreamcatcher inspired medals!! Located within Osage Hills State Park (one of Oklahoma’s seven original State Parks), Flower Moon will offer distances of 4, 13.1, 26.2, and 50 (52ish) miles. Yes, the 50 mile is a bit long, but that buckle should make it worth that extra effort. Read the historical book, watch the Scorsese/DiCaprio movie (shooting on location at the park), run the trails, and collect the swag. We have so much planned for this trail run, including Fry Bread Tacos after the race! It is going to be extraordinary!!
This race will be a bit different from most trail runs as runners of the varying distances should finish at similar times. With staggered starting times, all the runs are scheduled for the average finisher to complete the run around 6PM. This will allow us to all eat Fry Bread Tacos together and visit/party after the race.
The run features a great single track course with some technical areas, but is also very runnable. Located completely within Osage Hills State Park which offers 1,100 acres, this is a beautiful run through the woods with gorgeous scenery around the lake and the old CCC camp. The half marathon has about 1,100 feet of gain running it twice for the marathon and four times for the fifty mile.
The main course consists of a 13 mile loop with aid at the start/finish and at the parking lot for the bike trails (accessible at mile 4.75, 6.5, 9.5, 12.25). Drop bags may be utilized at the bike trail aid station by placing it on the designated tarp at the start/finish 30 minutes prior to the race. The half marathon has about 1,100 feet of gain running it twice for the marathon and four times for the fifty mile.
The 4 miler course includes two riverside views, the lookout tower, the amphitheater, and the historic CCC camp.

Firstly, this event is held in the Osage Hills State Park. If this park is representative of how Oklahoma does State Parks….they are killing it! Park was immaculate. Everything was not new but felt new. The bathrooms, camping area, creek swim areas and the lake were all well kept and provided for. Park staff was extremely helpful and courteous. This race is part of the Outlaw Series and I wanted to do it because I’ve been stalking their races for a while. Well ran race in a gorgeous park. Great aid stations with lots of food options, trail marked very well and fantastic volunteers. Also, free photos. I will be back!

I got upset when I realized this race didn’t have any reviews. I really loved this one. It’s in one the most beautiful state parks in northeast Oklahoma, and a short drive from Tulsa for me. It was my first race, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. As far as organization, I’m not sure how it compares to other races. But the atmosphere was so collegial and uplifted that I know I’ll do this one again. The runners and the organizers put a lot into it, and it shows. The food afterward (fry bread and bbq) was amazing.
Honestly, the only issue I had with the whole thing is that the shirts and medals, while beautiful, feature a dreamcatcher which is kind of problematic. Other than that, it was a great race and I can’t wait to do it again.
