Two weeks before Thanksgiving in 2011 we decided that we wanted to give back to all the participants who came out to race with us over the course of the year. Thanksgiving morning seemed to be the perfect time, and giving them a FREE race would be the perfect way to say thanks. We’re continuing that tradition…If you’ve crossed under our finish line in any race from last Dec. to mid-Nov. this year you’ve earned yourself a FREE spot in any of the races. If you haven’t crossed under our finish line this year…that’s OK too…You can still come out and join us…it’s just $17.
The course runs on Chastain Meadows Pkwy between Earnest Barrett Pkwy and Chastain Rds. It’s a great course…The course is fairly flat…but it’s North Georgia, so NOTHING is completely flat.
It’s a 5K loop, so if you’re running with your friends who want to run further, you’ll be able to run together for the first part, and they’ll take off and finish up on their own.
The further you go, the more loops you’ll do. We’ll have loads of entertainment along the way, so you won’t event realize it’s multiple laps. You’ll need to finish in 3 hours (we’ll keep the clock going till the last finisher comes in, but the police & aid stations will be leaving). That’s a 13:45 avg pace.

This race was one of the most unorganized races I have ever experienced. I have raced in 5k, 10k and 2 dozen half and full marathons all over the US. The race day packet pick up was extremely long while the race day sign up was short and easy. The race start was not a staggered start per race, it was a mass start and chaotic. There were baby strollers, people with dogs on and off leashes kids on bicycles, runners, walkers all mixed in together which made it difficult for any serious runner. If this was a “fun run”, it should be published as such.
