Two weeks before Thanksgiving in 2011 we decided that we wanted to give back to all the participants who came out to race with us over the course of the year. Thanksgiving morning seemed to be the perfect time, and giving them a FREE race would be the perfect way to say thanks. Guidelines will be the same as prior, please note the specific dates in order to qualify for a complimentary race entry!
The course runs on Chastain Meadows Pkwy between Earnest Barrett Pkwy and Chastain Rds.
Early bird race – Everything will be the same…but we’re letting you race the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Marietta/Kennesaw if you want to.
It’s a great course…The course is flat!…but it’s North Georgia, so NOTHING is completely flat.
It’s a 5K loop, so if you’re running with your friends who want to run further, you’ll be able to run together for the first part, and they’ll take off and finish up on their own.
The further you go, the more loops you’ll do. We’ll have loads of entertainment along the way, so you won’t event realize it’s multiple laps. You’ll need to finish in 3 hours (we’ll keep the clock going till the last finisher comes in, but the police & aid stations will be leaving). That’s a 13:45 avg pace
