So I get that it was WI and it was March but…they ended up changing the course multiple times in the week leading up to the event due to weather (again, WI + Mar). It ended up being less than a mile out on one trail, then back and then out 1.5mi on an adjoining trail and you do that 3 times. Boring. And not terribly scenic, but wow, the wind. The food before and after was really nice, the “medals” were “woodles” (made of pine). Friendly people (again, WI)

It is a simple race with a simple out and back route. Our group organized for packet pickup by our leader, and the shirts provided were all unisex (we registered with gender specific requests). I also wish there were finisher medals for the 5k. The half marathon gets them, the kids (who don’t pay) get them, but not those of us doing “only” a 5k.
