I was lucky enough to do this event last year & really loved the variety of events. The small number of participants gave it a very friendly feel. Staying in the surprisingly warm back country cabins in the depths of winter really added to the experience. It was just about the right mix of challenging & enjoyable. Amazing scenery. Head Guide Riitta Hanninen & her assistant guides really looked after us. I went back again this year for some cross country skiing.

I really love the idea Arctic Escapades came up with this multi sport event. You get the chance to do so many different things including snowshoeing, back country ski, complete a wilderness run, fat tyre bike and ride a husky dog sled. Every day is great fun doing something different.
The other nice thing about the challenge is you get to decide if you want to compete and aim for a time or you can go at a more leisurely pace and just enjoy the day with like minded people. You decide!
The event is very well organised and you get to stay in a combination of hotels and back country cabins, which are truly amazing places to stay.
The standard of the food is really high and you get to try local dishes, particularly the relaxing dinners with your new friends. The wilderness cafes for lunch are also mega with such a great vibe. Donuts seem to be people’s favourites.
All of the staff at AE are awesome and super friendly. If you have any issues they will help and support you for sure.
I loved everything about the event but for me the back country run was the standout experience. I spent a lot of time running on my own in that amazing peaceful environment surrounded by snow covered trees. It was truly an amazing experience 😍
We had such a great time that a few of us returned this season for a bespoke week which Riitta organised for us. None of us knew each other before FAC. We are now gathering ideas for 2026 for our annual get together 🇫🇮 💙
