Flew into and rented car at GSO. 30 min drive to bib pickup which consisted of socks, bib, and course printout. Stayed at Marriott Courtyard in Winston-Salem about 15-min drive to race. It rained and never stopped the entire race, but Mother Nature does what she wants! Hilly course, and two big hills at miles 6 and 9. Not much to look at, but I expected that from this small town race benefiting three local food banks. Finisher medals were not the prettiest, but I expected that as well for the price of the race. Finish line had delicious pancakes and coffee, but not many people stuck around due to the weather. Race staff was super friendly, and very appreciative of all the runners. Toured Downtown Greensboro until flight home. If small town, hilly races with sticker medals are your jam, then this is the NC race for you!
