This October, we proudly celebrate a decade of impact with the annual District 19 race series. As a cornerstone event of the District Running Collective, District 19 has become a symbol of unity and strength for the DC running community. Building on the tremendous success of last year’s 10-year anniversary celebration, we’re committed to making 2024 even more spectacular. Join us for an unforgettable race experience that not only highlights the spirit and resilience of our runners but also showcases the growth and evolution of our collective. District 19 is a dynamic race experience originally created to help DC runners cope with the cancellation of the fall race season and long-distance race experience during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. We chose the number 19 for our annual race series to continue to pay homage to those we’ve lost but also the tremendous perspective gained in the year 2020.

Race Distances
About the 19 Miler
This event is designed for individuals who are seeking an alternative race option for the near marathon distance. All 19 miler participants will receive an official race t-shirt, post-race snack box, and finisher medal.
About the 19K (11.8 miles)
This event is designed for individuals who are seeking an alternative race option for the near half-marathon distance and don’t wish to attempt 19 miles. This is also an option for relaxed-pace runners who feel they would take longer than 4 hours and 40 minutes to complete 19 miles. All 19K participants will receive an official race t-shirt, post-race snack box and finisher medal.
About the 5K
This event is designed for individuals who are seeking an alternative race option for those looking to do a fun run or race their fastest 5K. All 5K participants will receive an official race t-shirt, post-race snack box and finisher medal.
The Course
Heads up! This isn’t your normal race. District 19 is an unsanctioned, road and trail run experience that will weave through all corners and quadrants of the District. You can think of it as a normal weekend long run where everyone has the same route as you. Both courses will start and end at the same location and there will be course markers along the way to guide you.

I’ve been an avid follower of District Running Collective for a couple years. This was my first event with them and lets just say, they get down. Hennessy shots near the turnaround and just a real good vibe. I couldn’t stay for the party but will make plans on a future event. Packet pickup was probably the best I’ve seen. The people were very social and inviting.
