The race was very well run. The course was well marked. The water stations were frequent (about every mile and a half) and well stocked. The roads, when the course (which is mostly paved bike path) was on the road were closed and well guarded. The finish line had a bunch of things to do and things were going on until well after three hours past the start time of the race. There was good support from the community too. And the medal was really nice (I registered too late to get a shirt). The course is a little twisty in spots, had a fair amount of hills (mainly up and down bridges and overpasses), but is pretty fast. It did get pretty warm towards the end of the race. The only thing I think they could improve are to have an area where you can take two different paths around an island of bushes about a mile and a half from the start finish line marked with the chalk and cones that were everywhere else and maybe hold it in October when it’s a little cooler. But for size of the race and low entry fee for a half marathon, I thought this was incredibly well run and a ton of fun. Highly recommend.

Quite possibly one of the worst half marathons I have done. Total disregard for any half marathoner finishing over 2:30, which IS NOT SLOW. Ran this race the last 2 years and in both years the aid stations were shutting down long before the “3 hour cutoff,” (which isn’t published anywhere on their website by the way, it’s just a verbal understanding once you get there) and the finish line announcer didn’t even realize people were still on course. They had pacers for the half, but only up to 2:20…they deliberately declined any pace of 2:30 and up (I know because the pacing organization told us so). A 2:30 is NOT SLOW. As for the medal, in 2023 they gave out a generic “13.1” medal that one can buy in bulk at Walmart. I would not recommend this race, in particular because of their lack of friendliness toward 2:30+ finishers despite advertising a 3 hour cutoff.

The 10k was an “out and back” route. There were two cones at the far end, one at the 3 mile mark and I believe the 2nd was the 3.1 mile turn around. It was hard to tell though, there were no signs. I seen a runner turn back at the first cone, but I understand why. The first cone had balloons on it. If that was the turn around, then I ran too far and ran to the 2nd cone which had “10K TA” stamped on it. I assume that was the 10k turn around.
The medal was a generic 10k medal, so if you’re looking for a medal with a race name and year, this might not be the race for you, but I dont mind. I’m unsure how the half marathon and 5k medals looked though.
The bib pickup table was not clearly labeled. There were two lines. The left line had a sign that said t-shirt pickup. I assumed the right line was for the bibs but the line on the right didn’t have a sign, so i got in that line. Once I reached the table, I told the lady my name and she simply pointed to the next line without saying a word. I headed to the line with the sign that said t-shirt pickup and got my bib and t-shirt there.
The course was flat and fast. About 3 aid stations for the 10k. Some gave out paper cups but some had plastic cups which can be hard to bend shut to drink and run at the same time. Just an FYI if you’re a runner that likes to run and drink at the same time.
I did enjoy a free mimosa at the beer garden and the vendors were great as well.
