The appeal is the mostly downhill course. However, the quads will take a beating. The first 10+ miles are on a crushed limestone trail and then becomes paved and open the last 2+ miles. Runners take buses up winding roads from the finish line to the start. The trees help shade the course, but in my case, it also kept the humidity in. Water stops every 2 miles and one of the best food spreads at the end that I’ve seen. A lot of local places donated food and was right around the WVU campus. Not a very big race with just over 500 finishers. Not many good places for people to watch either. Not a bad race though.
