This was my 16th marathon, 15th state. This is a 1-mile out and back, flat, repeat with pit toilets in a city park. Dead Running provides great racer support with just about any type of fuel you need at a table you pass by with every loop. They stay until last runner finishes, so if you have a 50-state goal and aren’t a speedy runner, you can rest assured a DNF won’t be by their doing. Friendly folks, good support, easy course (but you do sacrifice scenery), and ok swag.

I neglected to check out the course map prior to signing up, so I was a little surprised at the number of times I got to complete this flat out and back course. Nothing but praise for the Dead Running crew, t-shirts and medals had great graphics and packet pickup had clear information. The course turned into a blessing as the night before the race I ate something that viciously turned on me and at every lap I was racing to make it to the restroom. I finished the race with a great puke and was reinvigorated with a Coca cola. Runners on the course were kind and locals using the trail were entertaining. Lots of great food and hiking in the area.
